Customer Service Representative - Insurance

About the role

The St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla Trading and Development Company Limited (TDC) is hiring a Customer Service Representative in its insurance unit in Basseterre. The role covers collecting and recording underwriting information, issuing quotations and renewal documentation, managing registry records and providing underwriting support.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and record underwriting information, complete proposal forms and issue quotations within three working days, following up on outstanding documents.
• Provide a high level of customer service in person or remotely and import scanned documents into the Underwriter Copy system.
• Manage the issue of underwriting documentation such as certificates, cover notes, endorsements and policy schedules, ensuring clients understand what each document means.
• Assign registry records, process correspondence into transactions and keep all communication documented in the system.
• Oversee renewal notices: update renewals with no claims, print and dispatch notices eight clear weeks before the renewal date, and handle renewal files including endorsements.
• Support the underwriting department with renewals and new business applications, and set and close alerts on policies, accounts and claims.

Required profile

• Five CXC or Diploma minimum, with minimum standards in numeracy and literacy.
• At least two years in a customer-facing role.
• Complete Award in Insurance (CII) within 1 year and Complete Certificate in Insurance (CII) within 2 years.
• Able to work courteously with customers and prospects and handle renewal issues efficiently.
