Accountant - St. Kitts

About the role

The St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla Trading and Development Company Limited (TDC) is hiring an Accountant in Basseterre, St. Kitts, on a full-time basis. The Accountant prepares the accounts for St Kitts Masonry Products Ltd (SKMP) and carries out related reconciliations and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Complete SKMP monthly accounts and notes for review by the 8th working day of the month and circulate them by the 10th working day.
• Circulate the SKMP daily bank summary by 9 am each day.
• Update SKMP bank reconciliations daily and complete them by the 3rd working day of each month.
• Complete SKMP intercompany sales and purchases by the 20th of each month.
• Prepare SKMP cheques and wire transfer payments as required.
• Reconcile intercompany trade receivables clearing accounts daily and confirm by the 18th of each month.
• Reconcile VAT for TDC Ltd, input and output VAT, prepare VAT revisions and allocate VAT by the dates specified.
• Update FCIB EC reconciliation, corporate credit card statement, and automotive division accounts and notes monthly.
• Calculate and bill the Automotive Division handling charge revenue to subsidiaries.
• Investigate automotive division bank and credit card clearings daily and reconcile loan statements to the general ledger.
• Update stock reconciliation, expenses and VAT for the automotive division, and reconcile withholding tax provisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Previous book-keeping experience is an asset.
• Previous experience using accounting software is an asset.
