Veterinary Anesthesiology Faculty Position

About the role

The Department of Clinical Sciences at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine seeks a full‑time faculty member to lead Veterinary Anesthesia and Pain Management education and research. The appointment begins immediately and may be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver didactic lectures and supervise laboratory sessions for veterinary medical students.
• Provide after‑hours emergency anesthesia support in collaboration with anesthesia technicians.
• Participate in curriculum development, committee service, and continuing education initiatives.
• Maintain a 70% teaching load across three semesters, with additional time dedicated to research (20%) and service (10%).
• Develop and lead an extramurally funded research program, mentor graduate students, and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.

Required profile

• DVM degree or equivalent with advanced residency training in Anesthesia and Pain Management.
• Board certification (ACVAA or ECVAA) preferred; board‑eligible candidates may be considered.
• PhD preferred for associate‑professor rank, along with a record of funded research and scholarly publications.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching veterinary students and strong interpersonal communication skills.
