About the role
The Ross University Veterinary Clinic (RUVC) seeks a Clinical Instructor to deliver primary care medicine and surgery for small animals while supporting emergency services. The role also involves teaching seventh‑semester students and supervising Essential Veterinary Skills (EVS) labs, contributing to the development of future veterinarians.
Key responsibilities
- Provide routine small‑animal primary care, surgery, and emergency coverage as needed (approximately 60% of time).
- Supervise and teach seventh‑semester students and EVS lab participants, delivering fundamental clinical skills (about 35% of time).
- Engage in continued education, faculty meetings, committee work, student mentorship, and research activities (roughly 5% of time).
Required profile
- DVM or international equivalent; ABVP certification preferred.
- Minimum five years of small‑animal general practice, including solo emergency care experience.
- Strong interest in surgery and/or dentistry.
- Demonstrated desire and ability to teach veterinary students.
- Previous teaching experience is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is beneficial.
