Inventory Clerk

About the role

The Inventory Clerk at TDC verifies and investigates stock matters so that management can be assured of the accuracy of the stock information in the company's computerized perpetual inventory system (SPRUCE) against the physical stock. The post is full time and based in Basseterre.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and investigate all stock discrepancies, including those shown on daily, weekly, monthly and year-end negative stock reports.
• Perform random inventory spot checks and recount items with variances to confirm the count.
• Ensure items are correctly barcoded and stored in their proper locations.
• Assist in perpetual inventory counts, price verification and the disposal of damaged, obsolete or expired stock.
• Check that stock data entered into SPRUCE is accurate and complete, and enter stock information and track orders, returns and on-hand quantities when assigned.
• Regularly verify committed or pending stock held over 30 days.
• Monitor shelf and warehouse stock, inform sales staff and management of stock-outs and replenishment needs, and help verify goods received and investigate receiving discrepancies.
• Support the delivery department, assist salesclerks with labelling, pricing and stocking, and work the point-of-sale counter when assigned.
• Attend product knowledge training, maintain a high standard of customer service, keep the workstation clean and carry out other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Successful passes in at least 6 CXC subjects including English, Mathematics and Accounting.
• Experience in retail and/or inventory is preferred.
• Able to stand for up to six hours per shift, perform repetitive hand movements and travel to other TDC locations when required.
